Activity Log: The Beginning

While listening to a podcast named The Darius Foroux Show, I came across a concept called Activity Log.

The concept is pretty simple:

“Right from waking up, after every hour, take a notebook and jot down everything you did in the last hour”

As Darius himself said, you just need to do this for 2 weeks. After the 2 week period, sit down and analyze where you waste most of your time.

Now, how to identify the time-wasting activities?

Simple. Activities that don't make your life better. Like browsing the web casually. Watching TV is another example.

You should be making more time for activities that contribute to your:

  • life goals
  • relationship goals
  • work goals

Anything else is a time-waster.

Make an activity log, identify those time-wasting activities and get rid of them.

Here's a link to the podcast episode I'm talking about. Take out 10 mins from your schedule and listen to it.

I've started maintaining my activity log. I'm hoping to achieve good results with this fun activity. Keep an eye on this blog because I'll keep you posted on my progress.

But you don't have to hit the couch and watch my progress. Start logging your activities, right now.

We do a lot of stuff that doesn't add up to making our lives better. Trim them away from your routine.
