Take things slow

Today, while going to work riding my bike, I faced a bizarre problem. I felt something was stuck on the rear wheel, near the ball bearings.

Ignoring that I tried to pedal fast to reach office before I get declared as "late".

What happened?

My bike broke down in the middle of the road.

Stopping to see what the problem was I found out it was the chain that had slipped off from its place.

No big deal - I thought. And it wasn't a big deal. I had it back in its place in a jiffy. The problem was what happened after that.

I couldn't pedal fast. Every effort to pedal fast was pushing me towards another breakdown in the middle of the road. The bike became sort of cranky.

I swiftly realized that if I were to reach office I had to ride the bike slowly and smoothly. It sure takes some extra time but it meant I could eventually make it to the office and not get stuck fixing my bike over and over again.

What did I do?

I pedaled slow. Surprisingly, I reached office on time.

Life is like that. Sometimes you gotta take things slow in order to reach your destination and not get burned down in the middle.

No matter how much you love to sprint, sometimes, you gotta have a marathon mentality.

Don't rush. Calm down. Take things slow. You'll eventually reach your destination.

Change is around the corner
